Not all teenagers are hoons

I am a 19-year-old studying youth work at central TAFE. A unit in my course is concerned with seeing how young people are portrayed in the media.

In the three months I have been on the course I have already got a clear view and am very disappointed.

Not all teenagers are hoon driving, verbally abusing, loitering people. I believe that part of the communication problem between the community and young people is the judgments placed on you, just because you hit a certain age.

Maybe by shedding some good light on young people (and there are many amazing achievements by them), older generations might get to understand us and not be so quick to judge every young person who comes their way.
