I can't believe some of the complaints about
Lake Jualbup, which have been published in the
POST.
Before Subiaco council "beautified" the area
many years ago it was just a swamp with reeds. In
summer it dries out and we see greenery on the
bottom.
When it rains the lake fills up quickly and the
bird life comes back - isn't that natural
migration?
We don't need the council wasting our money for
a few negative people who probably have lived in
the area for five minutes and expect everything to
be changed to suit them (probably thinking only of
the "value" of their property).
When we had a heavy downpour recently, the lake
area stank. Would it be like that if we had plastic
lining on the bottom of the lake all summer?
If it rains consistently in winter and doesn't
drain away, the lake will overflow on the
surrounding path and lower grass area and we won't
be able to walk around it.
It doesn't take many rainy days to fill the lake
and then there will be more complaints! Why can't
people be grateful to have a large park in the
area?
