Yvonne Sitko and the greatest star of all the Eagles
– Auzzie at Subiaco Oval with 40,000 fans.

Auzzie is a huge crowd-pleaser who soars where nobody else in the
squad goes.
He is the magnificent young wedgetail eagle who has stunned the
crowds with his aerial work at the Eagles' home games this year.

He was introduced at the first West Coast home game for the season
in round two, and really made an impression in round four during his
first free flight around the oval before the game on Sunday –
climbing up and over the stands, dipping out of sight then plunging
back to land gracefully with talons outstretched on his handler's
forearm in the middle of the oval.
Yvonne Sitko is Auzzie's owner and founder of the WA Birds of Prey
Centre (WABOPC). She has been training Auzzie for several months, and
conditioning him to feel comfortable with the roar of the crowd.
The West Coast Eagles, with WABOPC and Whiteman Park, are working
together to promote awareness of birds of prey, conservation and
rehabilitation.
