Who gets what in the local council money stakes

Mosman Park councillors are among the most expensive in the western suburbs, costing a total $103,800, despite reaping the third lowest operating revenue out of the seven councils.

Cambridge mayor Marlene Anderton topped Mosman Park mayor Ron Norris by a Honda CRV four-wheel-drive vehicle.

Both get $29,400 a year in benefits, which are the maximum sitting fees and allowances.

Their deputy mayors and councillors also get the maximum benefits allowed in their roles.

Cambridge's elected members in total cost $114,200, but the town has only one councillor more to serve more than double the number of ratepayers as Mosman Park.

Peppermint Grove councillors are the cheapest, as they donate their $43,560 in sitting fees back to the shire.

Nedlands spends $92,352 on its elected members, followed by Cottesloe at $84,150, Subiaco at $76,395 and Claremont at $62,125.

The chief executives officers' salary packages drop in line with the operating revenue, except for Cottesloe (see table below).

Mosman Park overtook Cottesloe this year with a revenue of $7,130,408, up from $6.9m last financial year.

Cottesloe's revenue dropped more than a million dollars.

Mosman Park's new CEO Paul Anderson's package was behind that of Cottesloe's CEO Stephen Tindale, who has held the job for five years.
