Paid beach parking is back on the agenda at
Cottesloe.
The SOS group of residents and ratepayers has
asked the council to consider again ways to start a
user-pays system.
Two years ago the council was swamped with
criticism, including from the then Court government
and the Labor opposition, both of whom agreed that
paid parking should not be allowed.
The government changed the law to prevent
it.
SOS has suggested that the council consider
timed parking, user-pays parking and redeveloping
the Napier Street carpark into several tiers.
The issue is on the agenda for this week's
council meeting.
