Pollution saving buses are lifeline

I agree with E.G Wild ("New life on the buses", Letters, POST 10/3).

The long-term solution to traffic and noise reduction is mass public transportation. Residents complaining of noise would be amazed to see substantial increased traffic without regular bus services.

Bus services are supposed to be community services.

I am surprised at the complaints about actual bus services, as since privatisation they can be quite infrequent in some areas.

Buses are very transparent: I live on a busy main road and have absolutely no troubles with buses going past my house.

Buses are a lifeline for students, middle aged and elderly people - for everyone.

I am grateful for bus services, as I am sure many other people are.

Please respect students who can't afford to buy cars and others also who choose not to contribute to air pollution.
