Shortly before his death, friends of former
Peppermint Grove real estate agent William (Bill)
Woolley told a psychologist they were worried about
him.
The psychologist had arranged to see him the
weekend he died.
Mr Woolley's body was found in bush at
Swanbourne last Friday night.
His body was discovered by a Scotch College
staff member taking students on a cross-country
run.
The school said this week the teacher had the
support of a counselling service if it was
needed.
Police are not treating the death as
suspicious.
Mr Woolley (52), of Woolley and Associates, had
been stripped of his real estate agent's licence in
June amid allegations of impropriety over the $33
million Mandurah Marina development.
He also faced fraud charges over an alleged
failure to notify purchasers of special conditions
on development of the land.
Claremont resident and psychologist Peter
Weygers said Mr Woolley's friends had approached
him, saying Mr Woolley felt totally alone and
powerless, with no hope of bringing the truth out
in a fair trial.
This week Mr Woolley's pregnant widow, Belinda,
hit out at newspaper report which she said showed a
lack of sensitivity to her husband's passing.
In a moving letter she described the shame and
humiliation Mr Woolley had suffered at the loss of
his job, wealth, friends and respect, which was
manifested in the loss of even his golf club
membership.
She said the only positives left in his life
were the love of his family and the impending birth
of his baby.
But, she said the thought of suffering through a
trial on fraud charges and the lack of compassion
by bankers, lawyers and even former staff members
were too much for him to bear.
